we showed up and christina texted me that they were caught in traffic. i guess another plus to eloping is there is no one to be mad if you’re late…:) peter and i hung out at the beach (tough life, right?:)) and when they finally made it there, it was almost an hour after the time we had originally planned. the sun was setting i could see that christina was frazzled. they got everything they needed out of the car, rushing around, grabbing this and making sure not to forget that. just as they were about to walk down the path to the beach i told them to stop for just a second. this was the evening of their elopement! i told them to go stand with each other for a few minutes and to just breathe. there was no rush, there was only them, their vows to one another. it didn’t matter if it happened at 5:00 or 6:00 or 7:00 for that matter. i told them to hold each other and take in the last moment of being together before being married. they stood there for a second and all of a sudden the both sank into each other, you could almost see the anxiety lift off of both of their shoulders. she brushed his neck with her hand and he talked quietly to her. this was it. tears filled her eyes as she giggled and wiped them gently off of her cheek. exhale. they were ready.
it was raining everywhere on the island except the little pocket of sunshine we stood in on the beach during their vows and the rest of the sunset. immediately after their first kiss a rainbow appeared in the sky behind us, and as the evening went on the sky lit up in the most incredible pinks and purples that i have ever witnessed, the sun beamed on the waterfall directly behind them coming down from the top of the mountain and the wind calmed. they walked and pranced and cuddled and held eachother close as the sun set on their first day of forever. everything was perfect and i was so grateful to get to witness such a beautiful relationship between two people.
Hair and Makeup was done by the wondefully talented Kelsey Kirwin at The Beauty Call Kauai <3 Enjoy!
while i photographed the evening, peter was sneaking around taking a little bit of video footage, and he put this beautiful little 3minute video of their day together and he did SUCH a good job! i’m so excited that pete is continuing to learn about the video process and he is seriously killing it, such a great thing that i am able to offer to my clients this year! total proud girlfriend moment – take a look and leave them all some love below in the comments section, thanks so much for being here and have a wonderful tuesday!
