after her mom stood with her infront of the window and zipped up her beautiful champagne colored wedding gown, she sat on the chair and began assembling her jewlery she had chosen for the day. her grandmothers ring, her grandmothers bracelet, and the pendant her dad had given her mom when they were 18 years old. he didn’t even know she still had it, let alone that his beautiful daughter would be wearing it as she started her forever with tyler. her mom did up the clasp, and just the thought of this sentimental touch, brought carissa to tears. she sat there as her mom stood by. i could tell how much something so small meant to them both, which made me love them even more then i already did. i love when people can find magic in something that could be so easily overlooked. when they let their emotions LIVE instead of being suppressed. i once would have suppressed any emotions i was feeling just to avoid the inevitable tears of my emotional nature (which i inherited solely from my father, who never fails to tear up at anything he describes as “happy-sad” ;)). at our wedding, i was so focused on not crying that i now realize, looking back, that i missed out on some of the magic that happens when you let yourself live through those types of moments naturally. when you soak in every thought, every feeling, by being present and attentive. i would do anything to go back to that day 3 years ago and re-live it, fully. without the irrational fear of tears. i loved that about carissa. she lives and feels and experiences every moment fully with no reservation. and it was a great reminder for myself to do the same.
tyler and carissa are some of the most genuine people i have ever met. each with their own unique personalities, they compliment eachother perfectly. she is softly bold and cutely loud all in one. he is quiet and strong, and has a real sense of calm about him. together they are authentic, fun, and filled with laughter. scott and i are so excited to have yet another set of amazing friends, and we couldn’t have been more honored to be the ones capturing their fairytale. carrisa and tyler, thank you guys so much again for everything and for such an amazing day ~ and congratulations again!!!
