i’m so excited!!! today is the start of a HUGE adventure ~ 6 weeks away, 4 different trips, 3 different countries, and only 1 suitcase ~ winning!! 😉

today i am headed to kauai (which is my favorite spot ON THIS PLANET!) to visit my mom and dad, wahoo!!! – i have a soft spot in my heart for this beautiful garden island, and even though this is my 12th trip to hawaii it’s been 4 years since we have been to kauai so i am SO EXCITED!! when we were growing up, we used to go to kauai every second year, sometimes for up to 5 weeks at a time (amazing!). those trips are some of my greatest memories and i feel like hawaii is my home away from home! this time, i will be in kauai for 10 days with my mom and dad, then scott will fly over and meet me so we can go to new zealand for danae and devon’s weddings in aukland!! then we will travel new zealand for 6 days (AH! IS THIS REAL LIFE?!!?), and head back to kauai to spend another week with my family!!  from there, scott will fly back home to attend a number of different conferences for school (life of the president ;)) and i will fly to santa barbara california for the photography conference UNITED (So. Pumped.) and then to las vegas for wppi on march 1st! AHHH! and of course i don’t have a plane ticket home yet (YES for one-way tickets!) so who knows what will happen after that!! 😉

what a whirlwind, i feel so blessed. best part is ~ by the time i get home in march (not only should it hopefully be a bit warmer), but our house will be finished! then it’s movin time!!! crazy!

i plan to keep blogging as much as possible while we are away to keep you all up to date on our adventures! the last time i was on kauai 4 years ago, i wasn’t a photographer (and i didn’t even know i was going to be a photographer at that point) – BUT i was looking back at some of our old photos from my phone and point and shoot camera and found a few fav’s! i cant wait to photograph this beautiful island over the next month! eek! like a kid on christmas morning ~ and i am now boarding my flight! wish me luck!!
