i believe that being brave allows our wildest dreams to come true. and the first step to being brave, is acknowledging those dreams, saying them out loud, and believing that YOU CAN DO IT! thus, welcome to the meg courtney dreams challenge.
recently i have been blessed to share conversations with with many amazing and creative people who live to inspire, to serve others, and to be held accountable to their character and their words. after talking with this incredible group, i was deeply affected. i want to be better. i want to live better and serve better and inspire better. i want to affect people the way i have been affected. i want to push others towards achieving their goals, i want to help them get there, and then i want to celebrate the accomplishments with them. these are all things that have been on my mind, and the thought that i keep coming back to is that “i believe being brave allows our wildest dreams to come true”. i have always wanted to leave people affected, whatever medium that it might be. i have always thought that when i am gone, i want people to say i changed them. i helped them. i inspired them. like so many people in my life have done for me. but as soon as i said it outloud, i had to ask myself how am i doing this, and how could i do it better? well, this is how i can start…
i believe that we are all stronger together then we could ever be on our own. we all have different strengths, connections, ideas and resources. what i want to do, is challenge those of you who want to participate to share your dreams and goals with your friends and family. saying things out loud is scary. i totally get it. it all of a sudden is something you have put out there, and for me, makes me feel pressured to do something about it. but what an amazing thing!! acknowledging your dreams allows you to start your journey of achievement, because if you haven’t said it out loud, it is just “something” that will happen “someday”, and there is no accountability to make “someday” “today”. as soon as you acknowledge your dreams by telling other people, it does 3 things. 1. it holds you accountable to take action. 2. it motivates you to take the necessary steps to move in the right direction TODAY, instead of someday. 3. it allows other people to help you. people want to help! and if your dream is to one day do a mission trip to Haiti, and you tell someone who happens to know of an organization organizing a trip to Haiti… BAM! look how easy that was! the next step is being brave, and following through.
my dream is to encourage you to believe that someday, is today. now is the time. put it out there so people can help, and help other people. we are better together then we could ever be alone. let’s help each other get to the places we want to be.
SO. i will start. one of my dreams is to be able to affect people. and this is my beginning. go to meg courtney photography on facebook, (become a fan if you aren’t already), click on the image shown below (maui sunset), share the photo on facebook by clicking “share”, and then include one of your goals or dreams in the caption along with “i want to win the meg courtney dreams challenge”. it can be a goal you have for the week, or a dream you have for your life. it can be anything from exercising 3 times a week, to learning french, to having a beach house where you can watch the sun set over the ocean. anything at all. don’t be scared. be brave. and it’s okay to dream big! i can’t wait to see the different answers, and to find out ways i can help you! {you can complete the challenge as many times as you like, but each time must be a different dream or goal}
Share the photo with your dream caption including “i want to win the meg courtney dreams challenge” – 3 entrees

Just wanna say meg that I know for a fact that you have already inspired more than you know just by following your own dreams and encouraging others by making it ok to dream what sometimes feels impossible! And as I said before I know I do not just speak for myself in saying this! 🙂
My dream is to be the best most interesting, energetic, patient, loving, inspiring, mentoring grandfather known to man.
We absolutely love your blog and find many of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for. Would you offer guest writers to write content for you personally? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write in relation to here. Again, awesome website!
