they snuck away from the chaos in the reception hall to the adjacent ballroom and she twirled around like a princess. the evening light was pouring in from the windows and she grabbed his hand and lead him into the center under the chandeliers. they began to playfully dance and she laughed as he spun her around. he pulled her in close and they began to ballroom dance perfectly in sync and it was as if they were the only 2 in the entire castle. they floated across the floor to the faint music coming from the iphone speaker and it really was straight out of a fairytale.
i am a good 2 weeks late with this blog only because it has taken me that long to find the words to describe how absolutely incredible this day was. the banff springs hotel is just absolutely jaw-dropping, and these guys really know how to throw a good party ;). peter and i got to know mark and oakley last summer when we spend a night out at their lake house for their engagement session (click here to see), so the whole day just felt like we were hanging out with old friends. oakley and mark are highschool sweethearts from edmonton alberta, and they now live in florida where mark just signed a 3 year contract to play hockey for the florida panthers (wahoo!!). the energy and love that poured out from their friends and family this whole day was inspiring and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. congrats you two love birds, we can’t wait for the next time we get to all hang out!!

one of my favorite parts of the day – a year ago peter and i started playing a pushup game with mark and oakley while we were at their lake house for their engagement session, and we caught them both saying the “magic words” and finally got them to do pushups in their wedding clothes! haha! and then this happened… haha!! take a room full of small town albertans mixed with a bunch of nhl hockey players and you have yourself a party!
