she said she used to imagine herself as cinderella until she met devon. then she knew she was a jasmine and aladdin kinda girl. we walked up to their ceremony site and the harpist was playing “a whole new world” ~ the setting was fit for a princess. she made her entrance into the forest where they were wed, and when they went in for their first kiss, the sun came out from a cloud and it was if the beams were shining down on only them…
they said they wanted to enjoy the moment together, to not worry about time or poses or light or anything at all except the fact that they were now husband and wife. devon helped danae carefully walk down the steps onto the rocks at muriwai beach, and when they got to the middle of the “island” once again as if on cue, the sun came out from behind a cloud and lit them perfectly. danae playfully began to jump and spin around and they embraced. every once and a while the wind would carry their laughter up to us on the cliff and the romance of it all left me speechless. they stood out there for a long time and it was amazing to just watch them interact. two people who were truly meant to be together in every way possible.
they couldn’t stop smiling, not even for one second throughout the whole day… and with that, i’ll let the images do the rest of the talking. enjoy! <3
i would love to be able to express our gratitude for being given this opportunity to be a part of danae and devon’s fairytale in auckland, new zealand, but i am not sure i have the words. it truly has been a dream come true, and we have been shown nothing but the most heart warming hospitality and care from both devon and danae’s family and friends since we got here. from the lam family graciously opening up their home to us, another family lending us their car for the weekend, full day lessons for driving on the left hand side of the road and direction “chaperones”, then danae lending us her car and camping gear so we can go adventure the north island for the rest of the week, we have been invited to family dinners at danae’s parents house more than once and most importantly we have made friendships that will last a lifetime. we are beyond grateful to be here on the other side of the world with this AMAZING group of people, and we already can’t wait to come back. so to all of danae and devon’s family and friends ~ if you are reading this, thank you thank you thank you. words are simply not enough, but please know what a blessing you all have been, and how lucky and loved you have made scott and i feel!! <3 <3 <3

Such a beautiful wedding! Such a stunning couple! I’m so happy that they finally got hitched!!! It was an amazing day and I will treasure the memories of it forever. Thanks for letting me be a part of it, for doing a reading at the ceremony and for being “Event Coordinator/Stylist” on the day. I had a blast! It was such a blessing that the sun decided to shine down amongst days of grey and rain. It was like nothing could stop their happiness! So fitting that Devon has nicknamed Danae his sunshine! Much love to the newlyweds, and thank you Meg & Scott for doing a wonderful job of capturing this special day in such a beautiful, cheerful & sun-kissed way! 🙂 xox
