we pulled up to her parents house, overlooking shuswap lake just outside of salmon arm. we were immediately welcomed in by her family, offered wine and were instantly treated like old friends. we took the quad and the side-by-side up the mountain to the look out, and it felt more like hanging out and adventuring than like we were shooting an engagement session 🙂 ~ by the end, i was actually shocked at how many photos i had really taken as it seemed like we were just talking and laughing and exploring the breath-taking scenery up there! when the sun went behind the mountain and we had finished shooting, we were invited back to vanessas parents house for sunday dinner. vanessa’s sweet mom had made a prime-rib feast, and we were so blessed to get to sit at their table as friends and enjoy an evening of amazing food and wine with them!

i cannot say it enough times, how fortunate scott and i feel to have all of these incredible people come into our life because of this journey. vanessa and cam, we were blown away with you and your families kindness. we couldn’t stop talking all the way home about how genuine you all were and how you all have the most amazing hearts. it really reminded us of our small-town routes and values, and we loved that about hanging with you guys!!! we felt so comfortable around you from the moment we walked in the door, and we just couldn’t thank you enough for inviting us into your home, sharing a meal with us, and treating us like we had known you all for years. 🙂

we were so pumped to be able to share a beer at the top of the mountain with this amazing couple after their session ~ enjoying the beautiful views of shuswap lake! we just love this life!! <3
