Kaua’i has some of the most beautiful resorts that sit right next to the ocean, making for spectacular views and depending on the season, there might even be some whales breaching right behind your wedding ceremony. How cool would that be?! Shay and Chance, who both live on Kaua’i, chose the Sheraton located on the south shore for their intimate wedding and had the fabulous Lisa from Lotus Events & Weddings by their side throughout the entire planning process. The Sheraton offers the most beautiful oceanfront ceremony location that sits on a palm tree lined lawn.
Shay and Chance had the sweetest first look, with tears from both and they even had their adorable dog with them to take a few shots with! He looked very happy his people were getting married (‘cause you know, dogs know these things, right? I like to think so!). Their bridal party was beautifully coordinated in shades of blue for the ladies and Aloha shirts for the men, perfectly complimented by the lush scenery. Shay was absolutely stunning in her lace lined wedding dress, adorned with a lei po’o (head lei) and a tropical bouquet with protea accents created by the talented Kanani with Milianani Kaua’i.
A beautiful traditional Hawaiian ceremony was chosen by Shay and Chance, performed by the one and only Kelvin Ho. The sun shined through the clouds perfectly and golden rays of sunlight perfectly lit up Kelvin, Shay and Chance as the ceremony was performed. After the ceremony was sealed with a kiss and family and friend photos were taken, Shay and Chance were whisked away to take sunset photos on the property. Their happiness in those moments was truly captured in the photos. Before heading off to their reception, which was located steps away from their ceremony at RumFire, they took a few photos under the almost full moon shining over the ocean at dusk.
They entered their wedding reception to the melodic sounds of Keola Akau singing and strumming his guitar on the outside deck. Fun fact about “Ola” as most know him – he was the lead singer for a Kaua’i local band named Revival for 15+ years and you can find him playing at many of the local hotels and restaurants throughout the week.
Shay and Chance mingled with their loved ones on the grassy lawn before heading inside for their dinner and cake cutting. As their night came to an end, the were sent off with sparklers outside under the moon next to the ocean. What a beautiful end to a beautiful day!
