the rain fell gently, it was supposed to be a flash flood but instead it was only tiny raindrops lightly dusting everything around us, almost as if it was a mist. kaitlyn looked out the window and she was stunning. as i took the photograph i could tell she was deep in thought so i let her stay in that moment a bit longer. the moment where it all sinks in, this is it. all the planning and dreaming and realizing that today is the day, a slight smile came across her face as she looked at me through the window and said “alright, let’s do this“. and then the rain stopped.
kaitlyn booked me almost 2 years ago so we have really gotten to know eachother over that time. she has become a great friend and confidant through a lot of different things and i am so grateful that her and neil came into my life when they did. i have never in my life met someone with as much spunk, energy and beauty as this girl. she makes everything an adventure, she is up for anything and she deeply loves the people who surround her. one of my favorite things about her is she is always dancing, whether she is walking down a path skipping and gliding across the ground, to her and neil walking out of their ceremony throwin’ out the moves. all day we couldn’t help but notice how well these two fit together. a ballerina and her firefighter, they really are the perfect match and i admire how they kept their spirits high regardless of the rainy forecast, even though it meant that we had to cancel our planned helicopter trip up to the top of the mountain for their wedding photographs. they decided they would be getting married rain or shine in the same spot neil asked kaitlyn to marry him, on a hill surrounded by the rocky mountains with their closest family and friends, there was nothing that any forcast could have done to make it any less magical, and after all the low clouds actually added to the magic of the day and everything was perfect. and we of course are still going to go up in a helicopter, those things can be rescheduled 😉
“and if it rains, we’ll imagine ourselves in the most romantic movie…”
