The magic isn’t always in the preparation or the plans. Often times the real magic comes from trusting in the flow, believing in the signs and focusing on the commitment you’re making to the person you love. An elopement planned in one hour at 10:30pm the night before (after almost 2 years engaged), a borrowed wedding dress out of my closet (almost exactly 5 years from the day I wore it to our own elopement) and thanks to amazing local vendors, Susan with Bridal Kaua’i who showed up at 8am the next morning for hair and makeup and Tommy Tokioka for arranging their ceremony. The boys found the last pair of pants on the south side after realizing the groom didn’t have anything but board shorts and Blue Orchid Kaua’i threw together an absolutely amazing bouquet in record time while I steamed my dress and set up our camera gear.
Originally they were going to fly back to their home in Puerto Rico after the ceremony but the universe came through with an unexpected extra day on Kaua’i so they didn’t have to spend their first night married on a red-eye after all! Pretty stoked we all actually pulled this off and it was the most magical day!
