they had a beautiful wedding last month surrounded by their family and friends, although nathanial had mentioned to letty that sometimes he wished they could have had a small intimate ceremony on a beach somewhere.
she planned everything to surprise him with his wish. a small, intimate ceremony where they would re-read the vows they wrote to each other and take the time to relish in these words somewhere incredible that they can always re-vist, and it was perfect. she hid her dress under a different dress she was wearing overtop so he wouldn’t know. she ran up ahead of him and when he caught up she was standing there in the gown she wore to their wedding reception, with the wedding officiant (julie d wirtz) and they both couldn’t stop laughing and smiling as he realized what was going on.
tears fell as they re-read their promises to one another. she held his hand with both of hers and they never took their eyes off of each other. the ceremony was so simple and beautiful, and afterwards we decided to make some memories and have a little adventure. letty and nathanial had hiked the hanakapiai hike earlier that day, so we decided to hike up the first half mile to the lookout so they could be up there to watch the sunset. the wind blew letty’s hair and dress everywhere but together they were calm and solid. it was such a beautiful scene, they sat on the edge of the cliff and watched as the sun went down, what a beautiful way to cherish the start of forever and i am so thankful we got to be there to document it.
