Louise and Kenny | Kauai Sunrise Wedding

When Louise and Kenny reached out about their plans for an intimate summer wedding on Kauai, we couldn’t wait to hear more. They envisioned a sunrise ceremony at Lae Nani on the east side of the island with 15 of their closest family and friends. Since this is a location we don’t often have the chance to photograph, we were excited for the fresh perspective and sunrise is truly the perfect time on Kauai’s east shore.

From the very beginning, their vision was clear: a quiet sunrise together, a private first look, a heartfelt beachfront ceremony, and newlywed portraits to commemorate the day. We suggested adding a second photo location after the ceremony to bring even more variety to their gallery, and they loved how seamlessly it fit into their plans.

On the wedding morning, Meg and Peter from Bradyhouse Studios joined Louise and Kenny to document their day. Meg greeted Louise, who looked radiant in a white two-piece dress with her hair styled in soft waves, perfect for a beach wedding. Peter met Kenny, who wore an Aloha shirt, tan slacks, and a traditional lei, and led him to the spot for their first look.

As the couple embraced during that private moment, a light rain passed over and a rainbow appeared above the ocean, a magical start to their wedding day.

Once guests had gathered, Officiant Kalani Jo performed a ceremony infused with Hawaiian culture. As Louise and Kenny sealed their marriage with a kiss, Kalani Jo strummed his ukulele, the sound of waves carrying through the air. It was a moment of pure aloha.

After being congratulated by their loved ones, the newlyweds joined us at a second location farther east, where the lush jungle meets the shoreline. They played in the sand, danced under the coconut trees by the river, and soaked in their first moments as husband and wife while Meg and Peter captured it all quietly and candidly.

When our time together came to an end, Louise and Kenny headed off to enjoy the rest of their day as newlyweds, beginning their marriage with the joy and peace of a Kauai sunrise.
