He held my hand and looked me in the eye “you ready baby?”. My eyes were already welling with tears and he hadn’t even started reading yet. We played Rock Paper Scissors to see who went first and he lost. He pulled me in close and we looked out towards the cliffs. “Look where we are baby. Think of all the places we’ve been and all the places we’ll go from here.” I rested my head on his chest and did my best to take everything from that moment in from the pounding in my chest, the gentle wind blowing my hair across my face and his thumb rubbing the back of my hand back and forth. He turned to me and opened the book to his vows and began to read. “Meg, you are the reason for all of my happiest moments”. Tears fell down my cheek.

He spoke and I was lost in his words, the world froze around us and time stopped. I gripped his hand tight and our eyes locked on each other. He made his promises to me as tears slowly ran down my cheek. I couldn’t believe all I had gone through to make it here to this moment with this man. He saw me and understood me. He loved me with all his heart and I was overwhelmed with thankfulness. This was my husband for the rest of time standing in front of me and I couldn’t think of anything more perfect.

I am completely overwhelmed with how to share all that has happened in the last few months. Our secret Bali elopement on September 8th was such a dream and it was so special to get to share this news and this epic film with our closest friends and family on Kauai this passed weekend. Our Kauai ceremony and reception was so much more magical than I ever imagined and that will be an entirely new post, I have so many thoughts and a million photographs, so I’m going to post it small bits at a time starting here.

All of our incredible wedding photographs were done by the insanely talented David Mendoza III (AKA “Doza”) this guy is a wizard and we are so grateful for him and excited to share the rest soon!

Peter and I are still on cloud 9 and we’re going enjoy a few more days with our friends and family who flew out to Kauai to celebrate with us this week, and then we’ll tell you more about this fairytale experience of being on the other side of the camera!
